The Presence of God in Contemporary Worship

Join us for an evening of theological teaching and practical training session in praise and worship. Objectives are as follows:

  • Defining worship. How do we know we have worshipped?

  • Understanding how contemporary worship came about?

  • What is the presence of God in a worship context?

  • Towards a better worship that connects with the presence of God.

Speaker: Dr. Simon Ng, Chairman of Revival Fellowship Limited.

Dr. Simon Ng was awarded Doctor in Worship Studies by the The Robert Webber Institute for Worship Studies, Florida, USA. Dr. Ng is a seasoned worship leader. He has in the past provided theological teaching and practical training in praise and worship in churches and seminaries throughout China, Hong Kong and other parts of Asia. Dr. Ng is one of the pioneers of Sounds of Praise (讚之聲), one of the earliest contemporary praise and worship band in Hong Kong and has led worship at major international events. Dr. Ng has also written contemporary songs including the Album titled “Intercession for Hong Kong”.

Dr. Ng is currently the chairman of Revival Fellowship Limited. He was elected as the Clerk of the Deacons’ Court of Union Church in 1998 and remained in that position until he stepped down to pursue his theological studies in 2009. He was a lawyer by training and a former lecturer at the Faculty of Law of The University of Hong Kong. Dr. Ng currently teaches worship as an adjunct lecturer for Alliance Bible Seminary, Hong Kong, and as adjunct professor for the Malaysian Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dr. Ng had in the past served on the board of a number of local as well as international Christian organizations, he is also the Chairman of Hosanna Foundation.
